Khao khoua - Ground toasted rice

Khao khoua is ground toasted glutinous rice that is mainly used in lap.


150 g raw glutinous rice


Spread the rice out on a oven tray covered with baking paper and bake for 40 minutes at 180° C. Grind the beans in a coffee grinder.

Khao khoua can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container.

“I strongly recommend that you to dedicate a coffee grinder only for rice. Otherwise, you run the risk of having coffee flavored rice!”
