Khao nom man ton, also called khao pad man ton, is a cake made of manioc. Fresh and uncooked manioc is toxic and relatively difficult to puree. In this recipe, I suggest you to use pureed manioc. You can find it in the frozen food section.
For 4 servings
500 g of grated raw manioc
250 ml of coconut milk
150 g of sugar
½ teaspoon of salt
300 g fresh grated coconut
In a bowl mix the manioc puree, sugar, salt and coconut milk.
Transfer to a container (I like to use a springform pan) and steam for 1 hour.
Let cool and cut into rectangular pieces.
Roll the pieces in grated coconut.
If you want to use fresh manioc, it should be peeled, washed, deveined, grated and then pureed with a blender.
